Meet Our Comedians…

Stand-up comedian Shaun Eli has rightfully been called one of America’s smartest comics. He’s headlined comedy shows on five continents- in person! Whether it’s a story about dining with a vegetarian or successfully fighting a parking ticket, master storyteller Shaun Eli proves that there’s hilarity in the ordinary if you approach life with a comedic warp. Job interviews? Serving on a NYC criminal jury? How about the Ten Commandments? For just about anything he’s experienced Shaun has a hilarious story at the ready.

Cory Kahaney has been busy. She recently appeared The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, was a hit on the 2016 season of America’s Got Talent and was featured in Catskills on Broadway. Cory has been seen on The Late Show with David Letterman and performed a record 7 times on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Cory is also a regular on The View, Fox & Friends and The Moms.
Ms. Kahaney is no stranger to reality shows from America’s Funniest Mom to Next Food Network Star even the Apprentice! But Cory is probably best known as a grand finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing.
Cory Kahaney was named Best Comedian in NYC by Backstage and Best female comedian NYC by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets. And even though she’s had specials on Comedy Central and HBO, her parents still wish she married a doctor!

His first time on stage Wali Collins was convinced that he had bombed, but the manager paid him and asked him to come back every week as a featured act. Wali moved to New York City to work on a show for Comedy Central called “Stand-up Stand-up”. He hosted the largest, funniest, most varied collection of stand-up comedians in the world.

Nominated three years in a row as “College Campus Entertainer of the Year,” Wali is also sought after for corporate events. One of Wali’s greatest achievements was hosting an event for First Lady Michelle Obama. Collins’ television stand-up credits include NBC, CBS, FOX, HBO, ABC’s “The View”, Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd” and Commentary on VH1. David Letterman caught Wali’s act and recruited him to warm-up for his show. Later that season Wali performed his stand up on the “Late Show with David Letterman”. In the words of Robert Klein, “Wali Collins is versatile, smart and very, very funny.”

Whether taking on relationships, his Italian-American family, pop culture or current events, Joe DeVito’s dead-on timing, unexpected twists and sheer flights of lunacy make him a favorite at the top clubs in New York City and across the USA. His performance at the prestigious Just for Laughs Festival was rated “9.5 out of 10” by The Montreal Gazette.

Joe’s TV credits include two performances on The Late Late Show, three appearances on Comics Unleashed, two appearances on Gotham Comedy Live AXS TV, Comedy Central, and was a semi-finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He was also a regular contributor on FOX News Channel’s Red Eye and a recurring guest on FOX Business Channel’s Kennedy, with other panel appearances including Chelsea Lately, CNN, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, and truTV’s The Smoking Gun Presents…

SAD NEWS FROM THE BRESLAUERS

EDITOR’S NOTE: We received word today that Bruce’s sister Kathryn (Kay) Payne died last night at the age of 87, after a long illness. She was a wonderful lady.

The following is an excerpt from a lovely email sent to the family by Roland, her husband of sixty years.

During these last few years, I’ve become more conscious of what a wonderful woman she was. She raised three really nice boys, volunteered a lot of time supporting them in their sports and school work; she enjoyed her grandchildren; she got along well with all her daughters-in-law; she volunteered for several community activities and was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year jointly for Los Altos and Los Altos Hills; she and five other ladies initiated the Art Docent Program for the Los Altos elementary schools that continues even now, and incidentally helped form the Leo Group of good friends that still do things together; she was an art docent for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco for some 35 years, receiving the 2012 McNeil Volunteer Award from their Board of Directors; was an all-around good lady; she loved me through 60 years of marriage.

We’ve been lucky to have been with her all these years. In addition to the above, she always had time for us.

Stay well and happy, Roland
