AN INVITATION FROM HELENA

This coming Sunday, July 22, at 2:00 p.m., we will be dedicating an historical plaque at the Home of Peace Cemetery here in Helena.

Ellen Baumler, the recently retired Montana Historian and an expert on Montana Jewish history, will be officiating, as well as leading a walk through the cemetery to talk about many of the people and families buried there.

All are welcome!
Thank you,
Janet Tatz

(P.S.: I attended the Montana Historical Society seminar in Helena on historic cemetery preservation last month. Ellen Baumler was one of the presenters and led the tour of historic cemeteries of Helena. Home of Peace was featured on the tour. Ms. Baumler was excellent.

Great Falls College MSU, 2100 16th Avenue South

Our small Jewish community is bringing a Torah Scribe, Rabbi Moshe Druin, to great Falls to perform repairs on our Torah. Our Torah is over 100 years old and is still used at all of our services. The scroll needs some repairs so that it can continue to be used for at least another generation. He will be here July 10-11.

While he is here, Rabbi Druin will give an educational presentation on Mysteries of the Hebrew Letters at Great falls College MSU from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. Donations are welcome.

Rabbi Moshe Druin is a renowned public speaker, sought after lecturer and a storytelling educator. His heartfelt, yet dynamic presentations have endeared him to Jews of all affiliations, ages and backgrounds. Rabbi Druin’s exciting and electrifying personality brings the relevance of Torah to life in a most meaningful and inspirational way.

Born in New York, his family made Aliyah when he was six. He has been through the three main streams of Judaism and has studied in Yeshivot of diverse affiliations in Israel. He was ordained as a Rabbi and Scribe in New York and together with his wife, Ahuva, they moved to Johannesburg, South Africa where he served as a Youth Director, Vice-Principal of the Jewish High School and later as pulpit Rabbi. He continued with his higher education in Jewish studies curriculum development at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Upon returning to the United States in 1998, his scribal expertise and public appearances moved to the forefront. Rabbi Druin has benefited congregations across the country and around the world in developing tailor-made educational, fundraising and community building Torah Projects. Sharing the warmth and inner wonder of Torah with a personalized and engaging approach, he is able to connect with all audiences. Today his company, Sofer On Site International, is distinguished as one of the world’s premier Torah Project developers, working with communities from Omaha to India on all facets of management, marketing, graphic artwork, fundraising and programming. Rabbi Moshe Druin lives in North Miami Beach, Florida, with his wife and children.

• Mysteries of the Hebrew Letters. Can letters be more than just a tool for language? Revealing the secrets beyond what you see at first glance. Beyond the artistic beauty of their shapes, woven into these letters are deep and inspirational meanings that provide lessons and guidance for living. But then, would you expect anything less from G-dly letters?

Aitz Chaim is very fortunate to be able to bring someone of Rabbi Druin’s stature to Great Falls.

    DURING ISRAEL’S 70TH

Ben Gurion, Epilogue – The story behind the making of the documentary film

    Lyrics:

    Sometimes I lay
    Under the moon
    And thank God I’m breathing
    Then I pray
    Don’t take me soon
‘Cause I am here for a reason

Sometimes in my tears I drown
But I never let it get me down
    So when negativity surrounds
I know some day it’ll all turn around because…

All my life I’ve been waiting for
    I’ve been praying for
    For the people to say
That we don’t wanna fight no more
There will be no more wars
    And our children will play
    One day

    It’s not about
    Win or lose
    ‘Cause we all lose
When they feed on the souls of the innocent
    Blood-drenched pavement
Keep on moving though the waters stay raging

In this maze you can lose your way (your way)
It might drive you crazy but don’t let it faze you, no way (no way)
