HISTORY UNFOLDED: US NEWSPAPERS AND THE HOLOCAUST
Please join the Montana Jewish Project in this unique research opportunity.
- WHAT? History Unfolded: U.S. Newspapers and the Holocaust
- WHEN? Tuesday, May 16th, 2023, 25 Iyyar, 5783, at 6pm (optional potluck at 5:30pm)
- WHERE? at MJP Headquarters (historic Temple Emanu-El) or online
What did ordinary Montanans know about the Holocaust from reading their local newspapers in the years 1933–1945?
Let’s find out and then share what we learn with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as part of their citizen-historians’ project “History Unfolded: US Newspapers and the Holocaust.”
Join the Montana Jewish Project for this History Unfolded event on Tuesday, May 16. You can participate in person or online.

Everyone interested in helping uncover this history is welcome to participate. However, you must register in advance so we can get you signed up with the accounts you need to contribute to this crowd-sourced project.

If you want to participate in the first Jewish community hike of the season, Sunday, April 30, 2023, 9 Iyyar, 5783, please meet at the Sulphur Springs trailhead at 9am or caravan from the gas station across from the refinery at 8:45am.

Weather should be Sunny and 55-65 degrees. Hike is pretty non-strenuous, about 4 miles total.
Dogs are welcome, but must be under owner’s control at all times.

INVITATION TO MJP YOM HASHOAH PROGRAM ON ZOOM

We would love for you and your community to join us for our Yom HaShoah program on Monday, April 17th at 7:00pm MDT on Zoom.
The program will include a Yom HaShoah commemoration, as well as discussion about responding to antisemitism today, personally and communally, and coalition-building. We will have four wonderful panelists: Rabbi Francine Roston of Glacier Jewish Community, Travis McAdam of Montana Human Rights Network, Isaac Nehring of Montana Youth Action, and an ADL Pacific Northwest Representative.

PLEASE COME TO OUR PASSOVER SEDER
Hello everyone-
The Aitz Chaim Community Passover Seder will be held at the O’Haire Motor Inn,
17 7th St. S.,
Saturday evening, April 8, at 5:30 pm.
The menu will include traditional Passover fixings such as charoset, gefilte fish, matzo ball soup and matzo and a buffet dinner of:
1. Honey garlic glazed salmon
2. Lemon Greek potatoes with oregano and garlic
3. Beef brisket with pearl onions and carrots
4. Sweet potato quinoa salad with dried cranberries
5. Meringues with fruit compote
Price will be $32 for adults, $16 for children ages 3- 12yo, under 3yo no charge.
Dietary specifications for this event will be Kosher for Passover style and sober friendly.
Food will be prepared without alcohol. Kosher for Passover wine will be available on request.
Deadline for reservations is Sunday April 2. Payment in advance is preferred.
Due to our obligation to our caterer, cancellations received after April 4 will still be responsible for payment in full.

Stephen Boyd and Colleen Lemon will be our Seder leaders, and they are working hard to create a multi-media extravaganza. We will be using a modified version of the Maxwell House Haggadah. The places highlighted in purple will be omitted.
